Another coin was added to the "The Enduring Soldiers" series. The National Bank of Poland minted a coin from silver.
On the reverse of the coin are images of: Stanislaw Sojczynski "Warszyc", the Order of War Virtuti Militari, ribbons with the colors of the Republic of Poland with the symbol of Fighting Poland, an inscription: " Zachowali się jak trzeba" which menas "They behaved as they should". The coin also includes the birth and death dates of "Warszyc": 1910-1947.
The obverse of the silver coin depicts torn prison bars.
Stanislaw Sojczynski "Warszyc" was born on March 30, 1910 in Rzejowice. Before the war he worked as a Polish language teacher. During World War II he was an officer in the Polish Victory Service, the Union for Armed Struggle and the Home Army, and became famous for his daring attack on the night of August 7-8, 1943, on a German prison in Radomsko. The soldiers he commanded freed about 50 people: more than 40 Poles and 11 Jews, retreating without loss.
