10 PLN The Cursed Soldiers by the Communist Soldiers - Zygmunt Szendzielarz "Łupaszka"

This is a silver collector's coin issued in 2024 by the National Bank of Poland. It is the 17th coin of the series of silver collector's coins "The Cursed Soldiers by the Communist Soldiers - Zygmunt Szendzielarz" issued since 2017. Zygmunt Edward Szendzielarz, alias "Łupaszko", "Łupaszka", and "Łopaszko" (1910-1951), was a major in the Polish Army and the Home Army. He was the commander of the 5th Vilnius Brigade of the Home Army.

Obverse: In the center, the image of the eagle established as the emblem of the Republic of Poland. Above, the inscription in a semicircle: RZECZPOSPOLITA POLSKA (Republic of Poland), below the inscription: 10 zł (10 Polish zloty) and beneath it the year of issue: 2024. At the bottom, torn prison bars. Below the eagle, on the right side, the mint mark: m/w.

Reverse: In the center, the bust of Zygmunt Szendzielarz in a uniform, on the left side the image of the Order of Virtuti Militari. In a semicircle from the left side upwards, the inscription: ZYGMUNT SZENDZIELARZ "ŁUPASZKA". In the lower right part, a ribbon in the colors of the Republic of Poland with an anchor on it - a symbol of the Fighting Poland. Above the ribbon, the inscription: They behaved as they should, below the ribbon the inscription: 1910-1951.
