Another heroic battle belonging to the "Polish Thermopylae" series.
On the reverse there is an image of Major Bronisław Czesław Kamiński and the badge of the 30th Infantry Regiment of Kaniowski Riflemen. The obverse of all coins from the "Polish Thermopylae" series features Athena, the goddess of just war and wisdom.
The heroic defense of the advanced positions in Młociny and the Outpost went down in history as Warsaw's Thermopylae. The 1st battalion of the 30th Riflemen's Infantry Regiment suffered huge losses: about 500 dead and 250 wounded. Taking on themselves the strong blow of the overwhelming enemy forces, the soldiers of Major Kamiński carried out the entrusted order - they effectively covered the Polish troops heading from the area of the Kampinos Forest to Warsaw.
