In 2025, the National Bank of Poland commemorates the 80th anniversary of Poland's return to the Western and Northern Territories – an event of great historical and symbolic significance. On this occasion, a silver collector coin with a face value of 10 złoty has been issued, serving as a reminder of the difficult process of rebuilding the state and shaping a new territorial order after the end of World War II.
The coin has been struck from pure silver with a fineness of Ag.999 in proof quality. It weighs 14.14 grams, and its mintage is limited to 8,000 pieces. The coin features an unusual square shape, emphasizing its unique character and the significance of the commemorated event.
The obverse shows the outline of Poland's borders, within which is the national emblem of the Republic of Poland – the crowned eagle. At the bottom, the face value "10 ZŁ", the issuing country's name "RZECZPOSPOLITA POLSKA", and the year of issue "2025" are inscribed. This design symbolizes the modern borders and independence of the state.
The reverse depicts the red outline of Poland's borders, within which the inscription reads: "80th Anniversary of Poland's Return to the Western and Northern Territories" along with the Piast eagle – the dynastic coat of arms of the Piast lineage.
