5 zł Discover Poland – The Town Hall in Brzeg

Discover Poland – Brzeg Town Hall 5 zł 2025 is the twenty-second issue in the popular series dedicated to the most important monuments and sites in Poland. This 5-zł commemorative coin honors the historic seat of the municipal authorities in Brzeg, with the Renaissance town hall forming a distinctive element of the Silesian landscape.

The coin was struck in standard finish, mint quality class I, with a mintage of up to 1,000,000 pieces. Its ring is made of nickel-plated steel (MN 25 alloy), and its core of CuAl6Ni2 brass, giving it a silvery sheen and durability. The coin has a diameter of 24.00 mm, a weight of 6.54 g, and an irregularly milled edge with the inscription NBP repeated eight times, with every second inscription inverted.

The obverse features elements referring to the traditional numismatic design of the National Bank of Poland, including the national emblem, the face value of 5 zł, and the issue year. The ring of the coin is decorated with the repeated NBP inscription on the edge, a characteristic detail of the series. The reverse design—though full details will be revealed on the release date—will focus on depicting the Brzeg Town Hall in a way that combines clarity of form with an artistic touch. The use of contrasting matte and mirror-like surfaces will highlight the key architectural features, while a delicate background texture will add depth to the composition. The overall design will remain stylistically consistent with the previous issues of the Discover Poland series, blending historical significance with modern minting quality.

The Discover Poland series was launched in 2023 and so far includes issues dedicated to, among others, Zamość, Kazimierz Dolny, and Sandomierz. As part of the announced upcoming releases, coins depicting further Renaissance and Baroque treasures of Polish architecture are planned for the first half of 2026.
