Górski's Eagles is a team made up of former football players who played recreationally in the 1990s and early 2000s, taking their name from a popular term for the Polish national football team from the years of its greatest glory (the 1970s). The team played for a long time under the leadership of Kazimierz Górski.
Jerzy Gorgoń was a Polish footballer playing the position of defender, a representative of Poland, Olympic athlete, coach.
He was nicknamed "Długi" (Long) because of his height (192 cm). (due to his height - 192 cm), he was also sometimes called "White Mountain". Nicknamed "The Telephone Booth" by the English. (the Telephone Booth), because his stature and red shirt reminded the islanders of London's red booths. With the Polish national team, he participated twice in the World Cup (1974 - 3rd place, 1978) and twice in the Olympic Games (1972 - gold medal, 1976 - silver medal).
After ending his football career, Jerzy Gorgoń remained in St. Gallen, where he coached the reserves and junior teams of FC Sankt Gallen and led Blau-Weiß Sankt Gallen. He then worked at a football nursery in Gossau. On 11 September 2012, he became an ambassador of Górnik Zabrze.
