Woman in a “Parasol” is a creation by renowned French Impressionist artist Claude Monet in 1875, featuring his spouse Camille and child Jean. As one of Monet’s most well-known works, the naturalistic family scene is revered for its vibrant colour palette and the interplay of light, colour and atmosphere.

This scene features Camille standing on the top of a hill holding a parasol to shield her from the bright sunshine with Jean, while out on a stroll. The subtle background directs the attention to the subjects, enhancing the overall sense of intimacy where viewers are invited to enjoy a peaceful moment amid nature. The symphony of soft hues and subtle contrasts used in the artwork further enhances the aesthetic appeal and contributes to the overall emotional impact.

This painting was created when Monet shifted to the suburban Argenteuil, known for its picturesque surroundings, a move that initiated one of the most fertile phases of his career. The artwork serves as a window into the personal life of Claude Monet, as the informal family portrait provides a glimpse to the love that existed within his family. It continues to remains a testament to Monet’s ability to convey emotion and atmosphere through a seemingly causal scene.

On a canvas of 165 x 125mm, a new minting technique called “Tri-Metal ” was applied to give this piece its remarkable weight while keeping its proportions true to the actual painting. This is made possible by combining 750g of Zinc as a center layer and 120g of copper as a base with a top layer of 2.5 oz of 999 fine Silver, resulting in a high relief.

This is a limited edition of 399 pieces only.

Each piece is packaged and delivered with a Certificate verifying its edition number and authenticity.
