Discover Poland - Benedictine Abbey in Tyniec 5 zł 2024 is a coin from the "Discover Poland" series. The Benedictine Abbey in Tyniec is one of the oldest and most important Benedictine monasteries in Poland. It is located on the Wisła River, near Krakow, and has a long history dating back to the 12th century. The abbey is renowned for its beautiful architecture, including the impressive abbey church with Baroque interior decorations. It is also an important cultural and spiritual center that attracts both pilgrims and tourists from all over the world.
The coin was minted in 2024: the ring is made of cupronickel and the core of aluminum-bronze-nickel, with a total weight of 6.54 grams and a diameter of 24 mm. This collector's item has a limited mintage of up to 1,000,000 pieces.
On the obverse, in a semicircle, is the inscription "RZECZPOSPOLITA POLSKA" and "5 ZŁ". At the bottom of the image of the eagle, established as the emblem of the Republic of Poland, is the issue date.
The reverse depicts the Benedictine Abbey in Tyniec. The reverse features the inscription "OPACTWO BENEDYKTYNÓW W TYŃCU", designed by Paweł Pietras.
