The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) was established in 1949 as an international political-military organization to counter the real threat posed by the Soviet Union to Western Europe.

The fundamental principle of the pact can be summarized by the maxim: "One for all, all for one." In July 1997, Poland, the Czech Republic, and Hungary were invited to join the alliance.

The formal accession of our country to NATO took place on March 12, 1999.

Obverse: Against the background of various planes, centrally the M142 HIMARS missile launcher, on the left side the self-propelled howitzer Krab, on the right side the M1A1 Abrams tank; at the top the image of the eagle established for the emblem of the Republic of Poland, below the eagle, on the right side, the mint mark: m / w. At the bottom the inscription: 10 ZŁ and along the edge a semicircle inscription: RZECZPOSPOLITA POLSKA 2024

Reverse: Silhouettes of five soldiers of the Polish Armed Forces from various military formations comprising NATO's armed forces. At the top the inscription: 25th / ANNIVERSARY OF POLAND'S ACCESSION / TO NATO, below the inscription, on the right side, the NATO symbol.
