The collector's banknote of the National Bank of Poland with a face value of PLN 20 commemorating the President of the Republic of Poland, prof. Lech Kaczyński, aired in recognition of his contribution to the Fatherland.
The banknote shows a portrait of the President of the Republic of Poland, prof. Lech Kaczyński and the image of the Presidential Palace. The watermark features the image of the presidential couple, Maria and Lech Kaczyński.
Lech Kaczyński was a Polish politician and lawyer. President of the Republic of Poland in 2005-2010, habilitated doctor of law, associate professor at the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw and the University of Gdańsk, specialist in the field of labor law.
Political opposition activist during the Polish People's Republic. He was also the president of the Supreme Audit Office, the minister of justice and the prosecutor general in the government of Jerzy Buzek in the years 2000-2001. In the years 2002-2005 he was the president of Warsaw.
He died in the crash of the government Tu-154 plane.
