The Lunar III Coin - Year of the Dragon "White Dragon" colored 1 oz Silver 2024 is another specimen from the Lunar III series.

Previous coins in the series were the Year of the Mouse 2020, Year of the Ox 2021, Year of the Tiger 2022, and Year of the Rabbit 2023.

The lunar series refers to the 12 animals representing the Chinese lunar calendar.

The year 2024 belongs to the dragon, which in Chinese mythology is a majestic beast dwelling in rivers, lakes, oceans, and wandering the skies.

The Chinese zodiac sign of the dragon falls on the years: 1928, 1940, 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000, 2012, and 2024.

The coin is struck from pure silver with a fineness of Ag.9999, weighing 1 troy ounce and with a diameter of 40.9 mm.

The mintage of the coin is 5,000 pieces.

The issuance of the coins is managed by the world-renowned precious metals producer - The Perth Mint. Additionally, the Year of the Dragon 2024 has the guarantee of the Australian government and is legal tender within the issuing country. Each coin is placed in an individual, original packaging.

The obverse of the silver coin Year of the Dragon features a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Jody Clark. Surrounding the portrait are inscriptions "ELIZABETH II", "AUSTRALIA", as well as information about the face value, weight, and fineness of the metal.

The reverse side depicts a colored dragon. On the reverse, there is also the inscription "DRAGON 2024". The designer responsible for this year's reverse image is Ing Ing Jong.
