Ull, son of Sif and stepson of Thor, is the god of hunting, winter, and an exceptional archer and skier. His name means “Glory,” reflecting his extraordinary combat and hunting skills. Known as a just and honorable deity, he was often called upon to settle disputes. He was also the patron of warriors who sought his blessing before battle. His attributes included a bow and skis, allowing him to move with unmatched speed.
Ull resided in Ydalir, the “Valley of Yew Trees,” where the finest bows were crafted from the sacred wood. During times of crisis, he temporarily took over the rule of Asgard when Odin was exiled. As the god of winter and survival in harsh conditions, Ull symbolizes resilience, precision, and determination – qualities essential for enduring the unforgiving northern climate.
