The Australian Emu 2025 product is the latest edition of the prestigious Australian Emu series, which has gained immense recognition among collectors, lovers of Australian wildlife, and investors worldwide. The coin features one of Australia's most distinctive animals – the emu – which is an important part of the rich heritage of the continent's fauna. Among Australia's symbols are also species such as the kangaroo, koala, kookaburra, dingo, Tasmanian devil, and wombat. The emu, together with the kangaroo, takes center stage in Australia's coat of arms, symbolizing progress and the idea expressed in Australia's motto: "never backwards, always forward."
The exclusive Australian Emu coin series, depicting Australia's endemic bird, was launched in 2018 through a collaboration between Metal Market Europe and the renowned Perth Mint. Since the beginning of this partnership, The Perth Mint has been producing gold and silver coins exclusively for Metal Market Europe – the series' authorized and sole distributor. Metal Market Europe, with many years of experience in trading precious metals and numismatics, collaborates with leading mints located on five continents and is highly regarded in Central and Eastern Europe.
The silver-colored Australian Emu 2025 coin is made of the highest quality Ag.9999 fine silver, weighing 1 troy ounce and with a maximum diameter of 40.9 mm. The coin has been minted in a limited edition of only 2,500 pieces. Every Australian Emu coin produced by The Perth Mint is, under the Australian Currency Act of 1965, legal tender in the issuing country. Moreover, the silver Australian Emu 2025 coins are delivered in original, dedicated capsules.
The obverse of the coin features a portrait of King Charles III. The obverse design includes the inscription “CHARLES III,” the name of the issuing country, and the coin's nominal value. The portrait was created by Dan Thorne, whose work was officially approved by King Charles III himself.
The reverse depicts an adult emu in left profile, standing on a grassy dune. The upright posture and alert gaze of the bird emphasize its readiness to react to potential threats. In the background, turbulent waves add dynamism to the scene and showcase the majestic power of nature. The waves symbolically erase the emu's footprints in the sand, illustrating the passage of time and the constant change of the surrounding world. The reverse also features the year of issue, the coin's weight, and its purity.
The reverse design was created by Ing Ing Jong, a long-time artist collaborating with The Perth Mint, known for her attention to detail and the combination of traditional motifs with modern artistic techniques. The coin includes an additional security feature in the form of an engraved “P,” highlighting the coin's authenticity.
