Silver coin of Tuvalu: Lunar III - Year of the Dragon 1 oz Silver 2024 Rotating Charm Antiqued Coin is a unique proposition prepared by the Australian mint, The Perth Mint.
The mentioned coin is a complementary element of the fifth collector's edition of the Lunar III series. The previous coins in the series were the Year of the Mouse 2020, the Year of the Buffalo 2021 and the Year of the Tiger 2022, the Year of the Rabbit 2023. The lunar series refers to 12 animals that are representatives of the Chinese lunar calendar.
The year 2024 belongs to the dragon and in Chinese mythology it is a majestic beast that inhabits rivers, lakes, oceans and wanders in the sky. The Chinese zodiac sign of the Dragon falls in the years: 1928, 1940, 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000, 2012 and 2024.
The coin was minted from Ag.9999 pure silver, weighing 1 troy ounce, in the antiqued standard. The collector's edition of the Year of the Dragon is produced in a limited edition of only 3,000 pieces.
Moreover, each coin was enriched with a rotating, gold-plated image of the title animal. Moreover, individual pieces are delivered in elegant packaging with an attached certificate of authenticity.
