On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the beatification of John Paul II, the Mint of Poland issued a collector coin commemorating the Pope.
The reverse of the coin depicts the figure of St. John Paul II against the background of the Basilica of the Minor of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Wadowice.
The obverse features a crowned eagle, referring to the eagle of Sigismund Augustus of 1568 as the symbol of the Polish State.
