Coin Programme of the series Queen’s Beasts

The series “Queen’s Beasts” is inspired by the sculptures of ten heraldic animals made by James Woodford for the coronation of Elisabeth II in 1953. They guarded the entrance to Westminster Abbey on this special day. Measuring almost two metres, these plaster statues represented the history of the royal heritage.

The first coin from this series – “The Lion of England” – emerged in February 2016 and immediately interested the collectors. What was unknown then was both the issuer’s plan concerning the frequency of the appearance of the coins and the detailed names of the beasts. Today we already know that the next issues might be awaited two times a year and we are acquainted with the themes of particular coins.

Up to this time, 4 coins have appeared and a number of collectors interested in the series are drown in with each issue. Its popularity may be reinforced by a truly favourable sell of the accessories manufactured especially for the series “Queen’s Beasts”, which are boxes and crown caps.
