The Chinese Panda opens the new series of coins Atlas of Meteorites
The Chinese Panda is one of the most popular bullion coins in the world. Every year its another image is presented. The one from 2016 can be admired on the first coin from the series Atlas of Meteorites. Both the obverse and the reverse sides have been subjected to a delicate plating with red gold which perfectly contrasts with the starry sky whose deep black was achieved by the UV print. One of the most interesting addition to the coin is the original piece of a meteorite placed on the reverse side.
Fukang was found in 2000 in the Chinese Sinciang. Its age is calculated on 4.5 billion years. It is worth to take notice of the beautiful structure of the meteorite, which flickers with gold in the sunlight.
