The jaguar is a large feline unmistakable for its powerful build, robust musculature and distinctive golden coat covered with black rosettes. It is the largest feline in the Americas and is distinguished by its compact body, broad head and extraordinarily strong jaws. It possesses large canine teeth and retractable claws, which it uses to capture and hold its prey with great efficiency.

It primarily inhabits tropical rainforests, humid forests, wetlands and densely vegetated regions of Central and South America. It favours environments close to water, where it can move stealthily through the undergrowth and take advantage of the natural cover of the landscape. Its carnivorous diet consists of a wide variety of animals, including deer, peccaries, capybaras, birds, reptiles and other vertebrates.

Its extraordinary strength allows it to bring down prey of considerable size and even pierce shells and skulls with an exceptionally powerful bite. When hunting, it relies mainly on stealth and ambush, approaching silently before launching itself at its target with speed and precision. It is an excellent swimmer and moves with great confidence through rainforest environments and flooded areas. The combination of its imposing appearance, immense power and the lush tropical landscapes it inhabits makes the jaguar one of the most fascinating and iconic mammals in the world.

The reverse depicts a majestic jaguar with golden fur covered in black rosettes, its head raised and its intense gaze directed towards the sky. Its imposing figure emerges from the lush vegetation of a tropical rainforest, surrounded by large leaves and flowers in shades of pink, orange and gold, while heavy rain falls beneath a spectacular night sky in bluish tones, creating a mysterious and immersive atmosphere. The inscription Wild Essence completes the composition at the bottom.

The obverse of the coin features the coat of arms of the Republic of Liberia at its centre, accompanied by the face value, year of issue, weight and silver purity. Various animals and botanical motifs surround the central design, reinforcing the collection’s wildlife theme.
