One of the most intriguing creations from the workshop of Peter Carl Fabergé, the Nécessaire Egg was made in 1889 as an Easter gift for Empress Maria Feodorovna. Its later fate remains part of its legend—last recorded in London in 1952, it is now considered one of the lost Imperial Fabergé eggs.
