The coin depicts the Snake Island Incident.
On February 24, 2022, the first day of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the Russian Navy attacked Snake Island and captured it along with the entire garrison, beginning the military occupation of the island. Snake Island is a small Ukrainian island located in the Black Sea.
The attack gained worldwide attention thanks to a recording from the Russian cruiser “Moskva”, which quickly went viral.
In the recording, Russian soldiers can be heard calling on the defenders to surrender. In response, they received the now-famous reply in Russian:
“Русский военный корабль, иди на хуй”
(transliteration: Russkiy voyennyy korabl, idi na khuy).
The mintage of the coin is limited to only 500 pieces.
