The coin is dedicated to one of the basic branches of manufacturing of ancient cities of the northern coast of the Black Sea - shipbuilding. Shipbuilding promoted the technological development of the communities of that time, the development of mathematical knowledge, construction theory and natural sciences. South Crimea was for 2000 years a hub of sea trade and a region of intensive shipping.
The reverse of the coin is decorated with a stylized image of a prora (bow) - an ancient ship, which is often found on Greek and Roman coins as a symbol of sea navigation. The obverse depicts a wind rose as a symbol of sea voyages and an ancient coin from the Bosphorus.
We offer the coin from the photo.
