A coin inspired by Bolesław Prus’s timeless novel “The Doll” (Lalka), featuring Izabela Łęcka – a beautiful aristocrat and one of the novel’s most distinctive characters.
The reverse depicts Izabela at an elegant ball held by Warsaw’s aristocracy. Beautifully dressed, she stands on a balcony, while members
of the upper class can be seen enjoying the festivities behind her.
Through the window, a view of 19th-century Warsaw unfolds, featuring characteristic architecture and an elegant horse-drawn carriage.
The scene reflects the world in which Izabela lived – one of elegance, splendor and aristocratic conventions – while also alluding to the social
contrasts portrayed by Bolesław Prus.
The obverse features a quote by Bolesław Prus: “There are great crimes in the world, but perhaps the greatest is to kill love.”
The rich, colorful composition was created using UV printing technology, allowing numerous details of the scene to be faithfully reproduced and
giving the design exceptional depth.
The coin is based on a 1 oz 2026 American Eagle silver bullion coin, combining the appeal of a widely recognized investment coin with a
unique artistic enhancement inspired by “The Doll.”
The coin was produced in a strictly limited edition of only 200 pieces.
