1$ Stanislaw Wokulski - The Doll, Boleslaw Prus

A coin inspired by the timeless novel “The Doll” (“Lalka”) by Bolesław Prus, featuring one of the most iconic characters in Polish literature – Stanisław Wokulski.

The reverse depicts him taking a walk through Powiśle – one of the poorest districts of 19th-century Warsaw, surrounded by its inhabitants and the riverside landscape. The image of Wokulski against the backdrop of this impoverished part of the city refers to the social dimension of Prus’s novel, which portrays the contrasts of Warsaw at the time and the lives of people from different social classes. The scene echoes the vivid portrayal of the city and its inhabitants presented by the author in “The Doll.”

The obverse features a quotation by Bolesław Prus:
“There are great crimes in the world, but perhaps the greatest is to kill love.”

The rich, colorful composition was created using UV printing technology, allowing numerous details of the scene to be reproduced with precision, while adding vivid colors, depth, and a distinctive artistic character.

The project is based on a 1 oz silver American Eagle bullion coin from 2026, combining the appeal of a recognized investment coin with a unique artistic enhancement inspired by “The Doll.”

The coin was produced in a strictly limited mintage of only 200 pieces.
