The Time of Contempt gold coin is a unique opportunity for fans of The Witcher universe. Made from the purest 999.9 gold, it is available in two weight versions – 1 oz (mintage of 100 pieces) and 1/10 oz (mintage of 500 pieces) – and transports us directly into the pages of Andrzej Sapkowski's novels.

On the obverse of the coin, the official state coat of arms of Niue is displayed centrally, surrounded by a laurel wreath with a crown above it. At the bottom of the coat of arms, there is a ribbon with the inscription "ATUA NIUE TUKULAGI," referring to Niue's sovereignty. The entire composition is highlighted by an ornate border, with a design inspired by the rich fantasy style that fits the world of "The Witcher."

Along the top edge of the coin, the inscription "10 DOLLARS NIUE 2025" indicates the denomination and the year of issue. Below the coat of arms, the details of the metal are provided: "1/10 OZ 999.9 FINE GOLD," confirming that the coin is made from the highest quality pure gold with a fineness of 999.9.

The rest of the obverse is filled with a detailed, richly decorated composition inspired by the world of "The Witcher." On the left side, we see a wolf with flowing fur, symbolizing Geralt of Rivia, also known as the White Wolf. The animal’s paws are chained, suggesting a battle with destiny, eternal struggles with fate, and the laws governing the world. Amidst intricate patterns and ornaments, the Witcher's sword gleams. Nearby, there is a lute, gently resting against fabrics – the instrument of Jaskier, the unparalleled bard and Geralt's companion. A small pouch of coins and an ornate chalice with smoke rising from it are also depicted, as if someone had just cast a spell nearby. The background of this fantastical composition features masterfully sculpted designs, making the coin appear as if it were taken directly from the pages of Sapkowski's novels.

The reverse of the coin depicts a scene from Andrzej Sapkowski's book "Time of Contempt." It shows Jaskier playing the song "Elaine Ettariel" on his lute, an elven ballad that the bard translated and used to infiltrate Brokilon. His music captivated the dryads, who ultimately spared his life.

Jaskier is shown in the foreground, in profile, with long flowing hair and a focused expression. He is wearing traditional attire with puffed sleeves, characteristic of his appearance in the Witcher books. In his hands, he holds a lute, playing a delicate melody.

Behind Jaskier stands a dryad – a mysterious and ethereal warrior from Brokilon. Her gaze is penetrating, and she holds a long, decorated bow, emphasizing her connection to the forest and the art of archery. Her hair is braided, symbolizing her wild yet elegant nature. The background of the reverse is filled with leaves, branches, and flowers, adding a mystical, forest-like atmosphere to the scene.

Along the top edge of the reverse is the inscription: "ANDRZEJ SAPKOWSKI • TIME OF CONTEMPT," referring to the title of the book on which the depicted scene is based. At the bottom of the coin is the gilded inscription "THE WITCHER BOOK SERIES."
