Another extraordinary piece of work! For the first time in history, facsimile drawings of Leonardo da Vinci's anatomical sketches were published in such a beautiful way!
Leonardo da Vinci - painter, architect, philosopher, musician, poet, mathematician, geologist, anatomist...just a Renaissance man. A self-taught man who has mastered many mathematical and biological disciplines to perfection, even though he has never earned a university degree. In the Renaissance era, he was the researcher who discovered the most in the human body. On the basis of his research he created eighteen sheets with 240 engravings and descriptions, known as "Anatomical Manuscript A.". It is believed to be the most ambitious and insightful anatomical research project in the history of medical science.
We present you with a unique first series of facsimiles of this work. In this version there are 10 sketches with descriptions:
I. The Human Fetus
II. Lungs and Heart
III. Muscles of the Side and Thorax
IV. Leg muscles
V. Faces and Arms Muscles
VI. Ponds and Bones. Detailed Skeleton
VII. Muscles of the Uarm
VIII. Backbone
IX. The larynx and leg
X. Circulation system
The whole thing was made entirely by hand, using a technique called "sculpture in paper", on Arcoprint 85g paper. The sketches were placed in a cherry-coloured wooden casket. One of the sketches is located in a decorative frame and the others are hidden safely in drawers. This is a beautiful set that will increase the value of the collection of any collector or enthusiast of science and art.
