40 Years of Top Gun 1 oz 2026 is a striking collector coin commemorating the 40th anniversary of the premiere of the iconic 1986 film “Top Gun.” The production, telling the story of Maverick, a talented fighter pilot, became a symbol of courage, rivalry, and friendship. Its cinematic legacy was brought back into the spotlight with the release of “Top Gun: Maverick” in 2022.

Coloured Top Gun Silver Coin

The coin was struck from 1 troy ounce of .9999 fine silver. Its minimum weight is 31.107 g, diameter up to 40.90 mm, and thickness up to 3.50 mm. The face value of the coin is 1 TVD. Its special collector value is emphasized by the limited mintage of just 3,000 pieces. The reverse design was created by Lucas Bowers, while the portrait of the monarch on the obverse was designed by Jody Clark.

Obverse and Reverse of the Coin

Obverse features the effigy of His Majesty King Charles III by Jody Clark. Surrounding the portrait are inscriptions indicating the weight, silver purity, face value, and the year of issue, 2026.

Reverse presents a coloured composition with the iconic Top Gun logo, above which a fighter jet is shown ascending upward. Below is the inscription “40 YEARS,” while the background is formed by red and blue clouds. The design is completed by the slogan “I FEEL THE NEED… THE NEED FOR SPEED” and The Perth Mint’s “P” mintmark.
