The Germania Beasts silver medal set – Sleipnir gilded 2 × 1 oz Silver 2026 is a remarkable collector’s edition created by Germania Mint, offering an exclusive interpretation of the Germania Beasts series. The set is dedicated to Sleipnir – Odin’s legendary eight-legged steed, a symbol of divine strength, boundless speed, and the ability to travel across the nine worlds. This limited edition stands out not only for its striking finish, but also for its unique artistic concept, through which both medals complement one another.
Each of the two medals was struck from 1 ounce of pure .9999 fine silver in Brilliant Uncirculated quality and finished with a combination of yellow gold and ruthenium. In the first piece, the background was gilded, while the figure of Sleipnir was coated in dark ruthenium. In the second, the reverse arrangement was applied – the horse was gilded, while the background was finished in ruthenium. As a result, when placed side by side, the two medals create a single, cohesive composition on both sides, depicting Sleipnir in his full glory.
The set includes two medals with a fictional face value of 5 marks, each measuring 38.61 mm in diameter. The entire set is housed in a special double capsule that displays both pieces in the correct arrangement. The mintage is limited to just 500 sets worldwide. The complete set is delivered in a collector’s blister pack together with a certificate of authenticity.
The obverses, designed by Natalia Danysz, depict the front part of Sleipnir’s figure. The contrast between gold and ruthenium highlights the richness of detail and the mystical nature of the legendary steed, while both medals complement each other to form a striking composition.
The reverses show the rear part of the galloping Sleipnir along with the distinctive double-headed eagle – the symbol of Germania Mint. As on the obverses, a reversed arrangement of gilding and ruthenium plating has been applied, so that when both medals are paired together, they form a complete and harmonious image of the eight-legged horse.
