The first coin in the new “Life Cycle of Stars” series.

The birth, evolution, and death of a star are processes written into cosmic space. In this series, each stage is presented as a separate window into the Universe, using techniques known from the “Galaxies” collection: photographic digital printing and a central lens that draws the viewer deep into the phenomenon.

From the nebula where a star is born, through its development as a supergiant, to its spectacular finale in the form of a supernova or a black hole — each stage reveals a different face of cosmic evolution.
