Perth Mint’s 2018 Bullion Coin Program

     Perth Mint has been issuing bullion coins from the most precious ores since 1987. The coins have been commanding tremendous popularity all over the world.

Here we are presented with the images of the coins which continue the series known by the collectors for years.

Lunar series – The Year of the Dog
12 animals from the Chinese calendar have been permanently inscribed into the Australian bullion coins program. February 16 th, 2018 will mark the beginning of the Year of the Dog, whose two different images have been placed on gold and silver coins. The gold coins include the weights of: 1 kg, 10 oz, 2 oz, 1 oz, 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz, 1/10 oz and 1/20 oz. The volume of gold one-ounce coins will be limited to 30.000 pieces. The representative of gold Year of the Dog is Labrador Retriever.

 

 



On the reverse side of the silver coins issued in Lunar series the image of a German Shepherd has been placed. The coins with the weight of: 1 kg, 10 oz, 5 oz, 2 oz, 1 oz and 1/2 oz will be available for purchase. One-ounce coins will appear in the volume of 300.000 pieces, whereas ten-ounce coins will be issued in the amount of only 100 pieces.

The coins will be available September 11 th .

 

 



The Australian Kookaburra
Kookaburra has been issued since 1990 and collected by numerous numismatists all over the world. In 2018 we can admire Kookaburra with wings flapping in the moonlight. Three coins presenting this beautiful bird will appear - 1 kg, 10 oz and 1 oz. The volume will be limited only in the case of one-ounce coin and will amount to 500.000 pieces.

Availability: October 4 th .

 

 



The Australian Koala
The image of Koala, one of the most recognisable Australian marsupial which has appeared on the silver bullion coins for the 12 th time, is also being changed. Two types of coins will be available – 10 oz and 1 oz, however one-ounce coins will be issued in the volume of 300.000 pieces.

Issuing date: January 8 th .

 

 



The Australian Kangaroo
This most popular Australian animal will be a representative of three types of coins. Apart from the gold and the silver, Kangaroo will also appear for the first time in the platinum version. The following versions of coins will thus be available on the market: 1 kg, 1 oz, 1/2 oz (the volume limited to 100.000 pieces), 1/4 oz (150.000 pieces) and 1/10 oz (200.000 pieces); silver 1 oz and platinum 1 oz.

The coins will be available October 23 rd .

 

 



The above-presented issues do not exhaust the topic of bullion coins from Perth Mint. We are awaiting the commemoration coins, as well as for example the continuation of the series of Australian Eagles.
