Genghis Khan - phenomenal coin delights investors!

The third coin in the popular "Great Commanders" series depicts the leader of the Mongol Empire, Genghis Khan. The coin is stunning in its detail and, in addition, has a high potential to increase in value.

"Great Commanders" series

The "Great Commanders" coin series was launched in 2017. The first coin was Spartacus, one of the most famous leaders of the ancient world. The entire series will consist of extraordinary personalities whose charisma and military and tactical skills made them accomplish great deeds. Military subjects are highly prized in the numismatic world. Thanks to modern technology it is possible to realistically depict even the most complicated battle scenes on coins.

The success of the series is demonstrated by the fact that previous issues are no longer available - they can only be purchased from the secondary market. What is more, their price has increased. The price of Spartacus on the day of issue was 990 zlotys, and now on Internet auctions it is sold for 1400 zlotys, which translates into an almost 50% increase in value! We can assume that Genghis Khan will also increase in value. And maybe even faster, because of the exceptionally wonderful reverse.

5$ Genghis Khan

This five-dollar coin shows the fighting Genghis Khan on the reverse. In the background one can see a clash between Mongolian and Chinese armies. Of particular note is the selective plating in red gold, which imitates the blood of the warriors. The coin is also decorated with a three-millimetre high relief, which shows every detail of the design.

The obverse depicts a map showing the deployment of the Mongol armies and their expansion; the most important battles and battle routes are marked on it. The coin comes in an elegant wooden box with a certificate of authenticity.

Genghis Khan was the famous founder of the Mongol Empire, one of the greatest conquerors in history. He was born between 1155 and 1167 in the nomadic settlement of Deliün Bołdak (today's Russia). He was the son of a local Mongol chieftain, Jesügej. He was characterised by extraordinary charisma. He gained power over some Mongolian tribes, whose chiefs proclaimed him Khan. Thanks to this, he subjugated the Tatars, the Kereites, the Najmanis, etc.  In 1206 he was proclaimed the Great Khan, or Genghis Khan.

He led a vast expansion not only into Asia, but also into Europe. Crossing the Gobi desert, he began to conquer the lands of China. Genghis Khan's armed forces consisted mainly of horsemen. The Mongols of the time were known for exploiting the technical advances of their opponents. Genghis Khan was a cruel and fearsome leader, which made his army extremely disciplined.

Genghis considered the state to be the property of his family - hence before his death he divided it 1224 between his sons and relatives, retaining supreme authority over the whole.
