5 on Friday - For Children

Five on Friday.

The end of holidays and the beginning of the school year are often difficult times for children. On the one hand they are looking forward to meeting their classmates, on the other hand they do not want to end their carefree holidays. In order to make this time more pleasant for them, we have prepared a list of 5 coins, which will please many children. Coin as a gift is a very good idea - children like the topic of it; they are often their favourite characters from fairy tales, films or comic books. On the other hand, because of the bullion it is made of, it's a good investment in a child's future that pays off over the years. Below is a list of 5 coins whose characters are known to both children and their parents, so they can be the subject of discussions and evenings with a film or series.

50¢ Bunny Bugs

Which one of us doesn't remember "Looney Tunes"? These short animated films produced by Warner Bross were first aired in 1929! The fairy tale characters also had their own episode on the big screen, "starring" with Michael Jordan in the full-length film "Space Match".

This fairy tale is an interesting memory for parents, but it is also current for children, as New Looney Tunes were created in 2016.

The half-ounce silver coin depicts one of the most recognizable characters of the series, Bugs Bunny. Thanks to the colour UV print, the main character stands out even better against the background of the mirror surface.

2$ Kermit

Another famous series tells the story of the creatures "The Muppets". However, they are not cartoon characters, but theatrical puppets created in 1955. Numerous series and films are devoted to muppets. Their common feature - apart from the characters - is a specific humor; they can entertain both children and adults, due to their dialogue references to current pop-culture situations, and sometimes political absurdities.

The most famous character in the series is the frog Kermit, who also appeared in "Sesame Street". The colourful Kermint is adorned with a oneounce silver coin minted in 2019.

1$ Bart

Many children just need to show a yellow card with two painted circles in the middle, and they will immediately guess that it's The Simpsons.

The Simpsons are a cartoon which, thanks to its characteristic line, is recognizable in many countries. Plus, it's the longest-running TV series in the world! It had its premiere in 1989, which is why it unites generations of parents and children.

The famous mint Perth Mint produced coins dedicated to the characters and characteristic elements of this cartoon. One of them is Bart Simpson, a 10-year-old robber with his beloved skateboard.

1$ Iron Man

Iron Man is one of the most famous characters in Marvel's universe. Comics and films dedicated to these characters are loved by both young and old alike. Twelve days after the premiere of "Avengers: Time Ultron", the series has become the most profitable franchise in the world, surpassing the previous leader - the Harry Potter series!

Iron Man is a superhero who fights crime with his own cybernetic armor series equipped with the latest technology. He is a member of an elite group of superheroes called Avengers. Everyday known as Tony Stark, he is a wealthy entrepreneur at Stark Industries and a philanthropist.

This hero appears on a 2018 silver bouillon coin.

2$ Darth Vader

The whole series of "Star Wars" could not be missing from this list. I think that we don't even need to introduce it to anyone. It's a pop culture phenomenon on a global scale - at first almost no one believed in the success of this film, and now Darth Vader is the most recognizable villain in the world. Still, after 42 years! This year's premiere of the last part of the third trilogy will take place, but it will certainly not end the story of the whole universe.

Anakin Skywalker, going to the dark side of the power became Darth Vader. His image can be found on many coins, including the 2018 silver broth.
