Another coin from the "Wild Mongolia" series. This time the coin features the Mongolian Falcon, the national bird of Mongolia, a symbol of power and freedom. The coin was struck from 3 ounce of pure silver in a mintage of 999 pieces.
The International Union for Conservation of Nature recognizes the Mongolian Falcon as an endangered species. The most important factors threatening the survival of the species include the trapping of mainly young birds for falconry, habitat degradation and environmental pollution by agricultural chemicals. In Poland, the falcon is under strict species protection, in addition, there is a ban on photography, filming or observation that may cause frightening or disturbing.
