Another PLN 5 coin dedicated to interesting places in Poland joins the "Discover Poland" series. This time in a commemorative blister.

Another 5 zloty coin dedicated to interesting places in Poland.

This time on the reverse side there is a symbol of Silesian Piekary, i.e.  the Liberation Mound.

The binding of the Golden Book established on the occasion of the construction of the Mound of Liberation in 1932.

It was erected in 1932-1937 to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the march of the Polish King Jan III Sobieski's Hussars to Vienna, from the 50 years earlier idea of Lorenzo Hajd, for which he was sued for inciting the population to manifest Polishness. After half a century, the idea was revived and a mound was erected to commemorate the 15th anniversary of the annexation of the eastern part of Upper Silesia to Poland. For five years, the population of Piekary and Šarlej, as well as the inhabitants of the surrounding villages, took an active part in raising the mound.

The Liberation Mound became a symbol of the struggle for Polishness, as well as a reminder of the struggles of Silesian insurgents. It is the highest point within the city limits.

On the occasion of the construction of the Liberation Mound, a memorial book was established containing entries and seals of people, organizations, institutions and associations involved in the construction of the object. Among them are the entries of Wojciech Korfanty, Lieutenant Colonel Kazimierz Flock, violinist Mieczysław Krzyński, Major Stanisław Daniluk-Daniłowski and many others.
