Masks

A mask is a cover for a face or part of a face, with eye openings, initially used for magic or ceremonial purposes.
They have been used since ancient times for both rituals and practical purposes. In some parts of Australia, gigantic totemic masks covered the whole body, while the Inuits used masks worn on their fingers during stories and dances. Masks can have different shapes, sometimes with emotions, sometimes with animals, demons or monsters.
Masks are found in different cultures and geographical areas. In Europe, known in ancient Greek theatre, since the Middle Ages used during the carnival games called masquerades.
